Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar has accused Greece of using its membership in the European Union to cover up its "illegal and aggressive actions" in the Aegean Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean, the Greek newspaper Kathimerini reported.
"Despite our well-meaning calls for dialogue, Greece is trying to distort every truth and present itself as a victim," Akar said on Saturday, adding that Greece "disguises itself as a sheep in an attempt to cover up its illegal and aggressive actions" against Turkey.
"Greece is taking advantage of its EU membership to build alliances with (the bloc) and create an artificial threat," he said, while accusing Athens of seeking to turn its bilateral dispute with Ankara into an EU-Turkey dispute. USA - Turkey or disputes between NATO and Turkey.
