David Sasolli will be buried on January 14 in Rome

 


 The funeral of European Parliament (EP) President David Sasoli, who died on Tuesday night at the age of 65, will take place in Rome on Friday (January 14th). This was announced on Tuesday by the press secretary of the head of the EP Roberto Kilo, quoted by TASS.

According to him, the funeral ceremony will take place at 12:00 local time (13:00 Bulgarian time) in the church of Santa Maria della Angeli on the square of the Roman Republic Square.

"The farewell ceremony with EP President David Sassoli will take place on Thursday, January 13, in the historic Protomotec Hall in Rome's Capitol Hill City Hall," Quilo wrote on his Twitter account.

 David Sasoli was admitted to a hospital in Aviano on Monday due to severe complications related to immune system dysfunction. He also spent some time in hospital with pneumonia in September, but then tested negative for coronavirus during his hospitalization.
