Kiril Petkov's visit to Skopje has been postponed

Due to self-isolation, Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov will not travel to Skopje on January 18th, as planned, Skopje's Nezavisen newspaper reported. The press center of the Bulgarian government announced that the visit to Skopje is not canceled, but postponed, but it is not clear when.

The Prime Minister Petkov and the President Rumen Radev came out in isolation, after yesterday after the sitting of the National Security Council the Speaker of the National Assembly Nikola Minchev announced that he was positive for coronavirus. Some of the other participants in the meeting announced that they would not enter into self-isolation.

Apart from Petkov, his chief of staff Lena Borislavova is also in isolation. His public duties in the country will be fulfilled by Deputy Prime Minister Kalina Konstantinova.

According to a government statement, Petkov will work remotely and will be in constant contact with all members of the government.
