Kazakhstan's first president, Nursultan Nazarbayev, is in the capital of the republic, Nur-Sultan, and is in direct contact with President Kasim-Jomart Tokayev, Nazarbayev's spokesman Aidos Ukibay was quoted as saying by TACC.
"Elbassi (the leader of the nation Nursultan Nazarbayev) is in the capital of Kazakhstan, the city of Nur-Sultan. Please do not disseminate knowingly false and speculative information. Elbassi is holding a series of consultative meetings and is in direct contact with Kazakh President Kasim-Jomart Tokayev, Ukibay wrote on Twitter.
He added that Nazarbayev had several telephone conversations with Kazakh-friendly heads of state.
"Elbassi calls on everyone to unite around the President of Kazakhstan in order to overcome the current challenges and guarantee the integrity of our country," Nazarbayev's spokesman said.
