Russia can beat Europe by building a gas pipeline to China

Russia is in the final stages of concluding a deal with China for the construction of the Power of Siberia-2 gas pipeline, the British newspaper Daily Express reported. In this regard, the publication concludes that this will allow Russian President Vladimir Putin to beat Europe, which stubbornly does not certify the already built Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

Citing a number of analysts, the newspaper concludes that the new gas pipeline to China has an export capacity of up to 50 billion cubic meters of gas a year and will give Moscow a new lever to put pressure on Europe, exacerbating the gas crisis in the Old World. According to the newspaper, this will force the European Union to be more accommodating with Russia in order for Europe to have access to cheaper Russian gas, whose prices have risen several times in the last year.

At the same time, Daily Express does not provide any additional details on the implementation of the project "The Power of Siberia - 2".
