A Ukrainian warship was escorted by Russian border guards in the Sea of Azov

According to the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation, on December 9 at 09:12 Moscow time (8:12) the command ship "Donbass" of the Ukrainian Navy separated from the raid on the port of Mariupol and has moved in the direction of the Kerch Strait, reports TACC.

The Ukrainian side has not applied to cross the Kerch-Enikal Canal. At 13:45, the FSB ship of the Russian Coast Guard, accompanying Donbass, warned of the need to comply with Russian legislation on applications for crossing the Kerch Strait. But an answer was received that the ship did not plan to cross it. The Donbass was heading for the Kerch Strait, 18 nautical miles from the Strait, and did not comply with the request to change course. Late at night, the Ukrainian ship returned on the opposite course.

As another "provocation" assessed the actions of the ship of the Ukrainian Navy "Donbass" in the Sea of Azov, the spokeswoman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova, quoted by TACC.

"I think this is obvious. This is another provocation. It's just not just her, it's not isolated, it's not isolated. It's a complex of provocative actions taking place around our borders," she said, commenting on the Ukrainian ship's attempt to pass through the Kerch-Enikalsky canal.

"In my opinion, everyone has understood everything a long time ago, based on the statements of the Russian security forces," the diplomat said. - What we saw yesterday was another provocation at sea.
