Mickoski expects Skopje to start talks with the EU this month

The chairman of the opposition VMRO-DPMNE, Hristian Mickoski, expects northern Macedonia to start negotiations with the European Union as early as December. He again criticized Bulgaria's demands, which he said had nothing to do with Europe's future and values, the online edition of the Nova Makedonija newspaper reported.

"I expect Macedonia to start negotiations with the EU in a little over a week. She deserves it, not only because some things were done or not done by the government, but because a lot of Macedonian citizens were done. Macedonia deserves to start negotiations. It is time for the EU to implement the values in time and to abandon these hegemonic demands of our eastern neighbor, which have nothing to do with the European future and values; these are demands for two or three centuries from the past, not for two or three centuries from the future, "Mickoski commented.
