Two-thirds of Albanians believe the Open Balkans initiative is in Albania's interest, according to a study by the Albanian edition of Euronews on Albanian citizens' views on the initiative, Skopje's Lokalno online newspaper reported.

The survey also showed that Albanian citizens have a positive opinion of the Open Balkans initiative, with 44% of them believing that the Open Balkans are accelerating the region's European integration, according to the Kosovo Online portal.

More than half, or 54 per cent, believe the initiative will increase the number of tourists from the region visiting Albania, boosting the country's economy.

The survey was conducted jointly by the specialized public opinion research company MRB and the Albanian Research Center from 20 to 30 November 2021, in direct contact with 1,000 respondents across Albania.
