Russia has made significant contributions to strengthening Serbia's defense capabilities

The Russian Federation has made a major contribution to strengthening Serbia's defense capabilities, expanding bilateral military and military-technical co-operation. This was stated by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, quoted by TACC.

"We are continuing our military cooperation. We are conducting joint exercises. There are more and more every year. The program of our military cooperation is expanding. The military-technical cooperation is also being successfully implemented. "The program we set out many years ago is being implemented in stages, in a timely manner, on time and to the extent we have agreed," Shoigu said during a working meeting with Serbian Interior Minister Alexander Vulin in Moscow.

All this, of course, is due to - in my opinion, very constructive and in fact friendly relations of our presidents. "Here we must pay tribute to the fact that at different times we always, even in the most difficult periods, adjust our watches and our leaders gave us the right direction in the development of further cooperation in the military and military-technical sphere," Shoigu said.

"I am glad to see you again. I gladly accepted your offer to negotiate. We always have something to discuss with our Serbian friends. "Cooperation between Russia and Serbia has become dynamic and multifaceted in recent years," Shoigu said.

According to him, the results of the recent meeting of the presidents of Russia Vladimir Putin and Serbia Alexander Vucic became another confirmation of this. "The presidents of our countries have agreed to further develop bilateral cooperation in various fields, including the military," Shoigu said.

"Please accept my congratulations on this significant event," said the Russian Defense Minister.
