Russia has activated more than 10,000 servicemen from motorized rifle and tank formations in an exercise in the southern part of the country, near Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports.
The maneuvers are based on a modular system. As part of the first of them, it is planned to work out joint actions between the different compounds. For the remaining parts, the classes will start in the points of permanent dislocation - in the classrooms and in the command training facilities - as part of the second and third training modules.
Autonomous field camps APL-500 are located for accommodation of personnel on the training grounds.
For 2022, more than 20,000 training events are planned in the country.
Western media have recently published articles about Moscow's preparations for an "offensive" against Kiev, RIA Novosti reports. The director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergei Naryshkin, said there were no plans to invade the neighboring country. He described such reports as malicious propaganda from the United States. According to Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Russia has no aggressive intentions and no one should worry about the movement of troops through its territory.
