The blackmail of Gazprom against Europe turned to his detriment

The German regulator will not decide to certify the operator of the Russian energy project "North Stream-2" (SP-2) North Stream 2 AG in the first half of 2022. The launch of the Gazprom pipeline is postponed at least until next summer, writes the ukrainian edition of Glavred.

According to Bloomberg, the Federal Network Agency does not intend to issue a permit for the certification of the operator of SP-2 in the first half of next year.

The German regulator stressed that the reason was the requirement to review the operational activities of North Stream 2 AG, which must be adapted to German law.

According to Reuters, the regulator excludes the certification of the Nord Stream-2 project in the first half of next year.

"It will not happen in the first half of 2022," said Johan Homann, executive director of the Bundesnetzagentur.

He also added that North Stream 2 AG, the pipeline operator, has begun the process of setting up a subsidiary in Germany, as required by law.

Suspension of Nord Stream certification 2

On November 16, the German Federal Network Agency (German regulator) decided to suspend the certification process for the Nord Stream-2 project. The reason is the non-compliance of the ownership structure of the project with the requirements of the German national legislation.

The Federal Republic of Germany has set Russia a condition that Nord Stream-2 AG must register a new company in the country to acquire ownership of the part of the SP-2 gas pipeline passing through Germany.

Until the requirement is met, Nord Stream 2 certification will not be renewed.

Speakers at the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov announced that Russia will meet all German requirements for Nord Stream 2 to speed up the launch of the pipeline as soon as possible.

German Foreign Minister Analena Berbok stressed that the certification of SP-2 was suspended by the regulator due to the fact that the project does not comply with EU energy rules regarding unbundling and "other issues".
