A group of Kurdish protesters tried to join the OPCW

A group of protesters tried to break into the building of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague, about 50 of them were detained, Dutch Television (NOS) reports.

According to the channel, these are protesters of predominantly Kurdish origin who accuse the Turkish military of using chemical weapons, including in northern Iraq.

One activist said the attempt to enter the OPCW building was aimed at drawing attention to the problem. He said Turkey had used chemical weapons against the Kurds at least 300 times since April alone. There is no official confirmation of this yet.

Police teams were sent to the scene to detain the protesters, and a police helicopter circled over the OPCW building for some time. Now the situation there is normal, according to the NOS.
