A military analyst predicts a landslide victory for Hungary in a war with Ukraine

 

 In the event of an armed conflict between Ukraine and Hungary, the defeat will be for the Ukrainian military. This was predicted on Wednesday, December 15, by the military observer of the Russian newspaper "Izvestia" Alexei Ram.

He noted that Ukraine has long seen Hungary as a possible enemy in its military planning. According to the expert, the 10th Mountain Assault Brigade was formed taking into account the possible complications on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border.

 "This military unit is considered the pride of Ukraine's armed forces. It is based on the two well-known battalions "Aidar" and "Donbass". Therefore, it is believed that the 10th Brigade has a very high level of combat training. In addition, its personnel are one of the main recipients of US military aid. At the same time, the combat capabilities of the 10th Brigade are not enough to defeat the Hungarian armed forces. "For several years in a row, Hungary has been on a course of strengthening its national military forces," Ram said.

 In particular, according to him, there is a purchase of German Leopard tanks, Israeli anti-tank systems and modern small arms. The military observer pointed out that various Ukrainian experts and politicians like to make statements that Ukraine's armed forces will easily defeat Hungary.

"But in fact, in the event of such a conflict, it is the Ukrainian military that will be defeated," he concluded.

 Earlier in the day, former head of the Donetsk military-civilian administration Pavel Zhebrivsky said Ukraine would destroy the Hungarian army with a mountain assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces if necessary. According to him, the Hungarian authorities are aware of Ukraine's strong position in the Transcarpathian region and therefore the borders in Transcarpathia are closed.

For his part, the retired colonel, military expert Viktor Litovkin, in an interview with Izvestia, called Zhebrivski's words nonsense. He stressed that the Ukrainian army has nothing to boast about, as there is no aviation, no navy, no missile forces.
