 The State Border Committee of Belarus has announced that a Polish serviceman has sought political asylum in Minsk, RIA Novosti reports.

The reason for this decision is the disagreement with Warsaw's policy during the migration crisis and the inhuman treatment of refugees.

The man said he served in the 11th Masurian Artillery Regiment of the 16th Pomeranian Mechanized Division "King Casimir". Its units were transferred to the border during the state of emergency.

The Polish serviceman, who "disappeared" on the border with Belarus, had "serious problems with the law and has left his military service." This was written by the Minister of National Defense of Poland Mariusz Blaszczak on Twitter, quoted by TACC.

"The soldier who disappeared yesterday had serious problems with the law and he resigned from the army. He should never have been sent to serve at the border ... I asked for clarifications from those responsible for this, "said the Polish minister.
