Kosovo is the most successful project of American and European diplomacy

Kosovo President Vyosa Osmani described the formation of the state of Kosovo as "the most important and successful US and European foreign policy project", a Macedonian News Agency (MIA) correspondent in Pristina was quoted as saying by Skopje's online newspaper Press 24.

In his annual address to the parliament of the youngest Balkan republic, Osmani said Kosovo "deserves the full support" of its allies because it has "proven to be a strong and stable democracy".

"We are happy to say that Kosovo is the most important and successful project of American and European foreign policy, as well as of all those who have stood behind us. Kosovo is a country that deserves the full support of our allies, as it has proven to be a strong and stable democracy, and I was honored to present our country as an example and model of successful democracy at the Democracy Summit hosted by the President. "USA Joe Biden," Osmani said.

She also stressed that her country remains firm in its Euro-Atlantic orientation.

Commenting on relations with Serbia, Osmani said he sees dialogue as "an important tool for the stability and development of the region".

"Unfortunately, we do not see this readiness in Serbia, whose goals remain the same, no matter how much the strategy can be changed. Serbia has territorial claims to Kosovo and does not hide it with its rhetoric or actions. As for dialogue, it cannot succeed if we do not learn from the mistakes of the past. "The status, the territory, the internal functionality and the constitutional order of our country are not and will not be the subject of the dialogue," Osmani said.

According to the Kosovo president, "by serving as a springboard for Russia's interests in the region, Serbia aims to destabilize countries in the region, including Kosovo."

Serbia, she said, is using the ideas and logic of the last century, and those ideas are leading to new conflicts.

"These ideas from the last century, which aim at segregation instead of integration, ethnic divisions instead of multiethnicity, are not useful for Kosovo or the region. Such ideas create new conflicts and dysfunction. "With everything that is happening in Bosnia, it is incomprehensible how there are still voices for the idea of provoking the same crisis in Kosovo as in Bosnia," Osmani said.
