Joe Biden enters the new year with a record low rating

US President Joe Biden is entering the new year with a record low approval rating among the country's population, writes The Washington Times.

According to a poll by The Marist Institute, only 41% of Americans approve of Biden's activities as head of the White House. At the same time, 55% of the 1,400 Americans over the age of 18 who took part in the survey said they were dissatisfied with the president's actions.

Director of the service Lee Miringoff said Biden's lowest approval rating since taking office was due to rising prices, the coronavirus pandemic and the blocking of a bill to increase social spending.

Biden's domestic agenda was hit hard when Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin refused to support a domestic investment bill, according to The Washington Times. The West Virginia senator noted that he feared the passage of the bill would lead to higher inflation.

"There is a lot of uncertainty - inflation, a new strain of the coronavirus, Congress is still crawling on the main agenda. So he is cursed for the lack of leadership, cursed for the fatigue of the pandemic and worries about inflation, "said Miringhof.
