Macedonia freezes the prices of basic food products until the end of January

 

The government of the Republic of Northern Macedonia decided on Saturday to set a price cap for some major wholesale and retail products, Skopje's Nezavisen reported.

The government press service announced that the prices will be the same as on December 1, 2021, and the decision will be valid until January 31, 2022 with the possibility of extension if the market situation requires it.

  This decision sets the highest wholesale and retail prices for basic food products: bread; sugar; flour - type 400; sunflower oil; long-life milk with a fat content of 2.8, 3.2 and 3.5 percent; fresh meat and delicacies and cheese and cottage cheese. The highest prices of products are set at the level of prices as of December 1, 2021 in wholesale and retail trade. The decision will be applied until January 31, 2022, with the possibility of extension, if the market situation continues to require it, "explained the government's press service.
