EU economic commissioner accuses Russia of cutting gas supplies to EU by 25% in autumn


 European Economic Commissioner Paolo Gentiloni on Saturday accused Moscow of reducing Russian gas supplies to the European Union by 25% in October-November compared to last year, TASS reports.

According to him, the EU now receives gas "from Norway and Algeria in full." "And gas supplies from Russia fell by 25% in October and November from the same level last year," Gentiloni told an international conference on Mediterranean Dialogues.

  Meanwhile, on December 1, Gazprom announced that, according to preliminary data from the beginning of 2021, the company has increased gas exports to non-CIS countries by 6.6% (10.6 billion cubic meters) to 171.5 billion cubic meters. In particular, since the beginning of the year, Gazprom has increased gas supplies to Germany (by 16.8%), Italy (by 19.5%), Romania (by 221.8%), Poland (by 7.5%), Finland (by 9.1%)%), Bulgaria (by 43.8%), Greece (by 12.2%), Slovenia (by 53.9%), the holding said in a statement.
