Maria Zakharova warned of the threat to civil aviation due to the actions of the US Air Force

The actions of the US Air Force pose a threat to civil aviation, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, quoted by the Moscow newspaper Izvestia.

"The actions of the US Air Force have posed a threat to civil aviation. And if a catastrophe in the airspace over the open waters of the Black Sea is now prevented, it does not mean that the United States and NATO can continue to risk people's lives with impunity, "she wrote in her Telegram channel.

The diplomat stressed that the increased intensity of NATO aircraft flights near the borders of the Russian Federation, including over the Black Sea, increases the risk of dangerous accidents with regard to civilian aircraft.

On October 3, a civilian plane flying from Tel Aviv to Moscow was forced to change course over the Black Sea to avoid a dangerous rapprochement with a foreign reconnaissance plane. It was noted that the reconnaissance plane crossed arbitrarily established routes of civil aviation and approached the passenger "Airbus".

The vertical distance between the planes was less than 20 meters. Air traffic controllers ordered the civilian plane to descend to 500 meters and occupy a safer train. The NATO plane did not answer the calls from the ground.

According to military expert Viktor Litovkin, the US Air Force is "behaving impudently and unpredictably and crossing the routes of passenger planes, which could lead to tragedy."
