Mickowski attacked Kiril Petkov

Macedonia opposition leader Hristian Mickovski said Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov had reaffirmed the concept of "known as Zhivkovism", a denial of the Macedonian nation, language and, to some extent, the Macedonian state, Skopje-based Nezavisen reported.

"If we analyze this last statement of Kiril Petkov about Politico, I come to the conclusion that he is a politician who is not brave. Why am I saying this? Because if his political career is in the interest of good neighborly relations with his western neighbor, which should have started negotiations with the European Union a long time ago, because the people deserved it, not this government, which is now. This is dishonest, hypocritical, and at least I can say that this is a man who is not brave, whose career is in front of European values. It is disappointing for me, "said VMRO-DPMNE chairman Hristian Mickoski in an interview with Macedonian Radio.

The politician stressed that based on the information at his disposal, if all or part of the Resolution adopted by the Bulgarian Parliament in November 2019 and confirmed by the Bulgarian government is not included in the document, which may be signed by Macedonia or be part of the negotiating framework before the accession negotiations, then the Macedonia will not get the green light to start negotiations.

"This Harvard man, who was declared a liberal politician, had more liberal positions on the Macedonian issue, we see that his views are not only conservative, not only regressive, but he reaffirms the concept known as Zhivkovism, which represents the denial of the Macedonian nation, the Macedonian language and even, to some extent, the Macedonian state, "Mickoski said.
