Kosovo and Albania unify their textbooks

Kosovo and Albania signed an agreement Tuesday to unify primers' primers from 2022. The agreement was signed by the two countries' education ministers, Arberi Nagavtsi of Kosovo and Evis Kushi of Albania, Pristina's Gazeta Express reported.

The initiative for a new joint primer was launched during a joint meeting of the Albanian and Kosovo governments in Elbasan, with the aim of presenting the new textbook for beginners in the 2022-2023 school year.

Kosovo Education Minister Arberi Nagavci said she was confident the new joint textbook would be used early next school year. She said co-operation in education between the two countries is very important, adding that they are committed to further co-operating.

Albanian Education Minister Evis Kushi, who came to Pristina to sign the agreement, said the use of a common primer is necessary for both sides. She said the two sides have good co-operation, referring to an agreement signed during a joint meeting of the two governments to facilitate procedures for the recognition of mutual diplomas and co-operation in publishing a book on Albanian language and culture for Albanians living in the diaspora.
