Sirens and bomb shelters inspected in Kiev in preparation for Russian invasion

In preparation for a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine, Kiev authorities have launched an inspection of the capital's bomb shelters and an exercise to alert the population. As reported by "Correspondent", this was announced by Deputy Head of the Kyiv Municipal Security Administration Andriy Krishchenko.

"Let's start with the bomb shelters. These are old, still Soviet structures that were mostly in large enterprises. There is infrastructure there, they are well fortified and designed for a large number of people, "said the official.

In addition, according to him, more than 4,000 dual-use sites are to be inspected: basements, underground car parks, basement shops, etc.

Krishchenko announced that in the near future there will be explanatory work with the residents of the city, and in a few weeks there will be an exercise with sirens.

"From next week we will start an information campaign so that people are not scared when they hear them. And in a few weeks, we will turn on the sirens and conduct exercises so that people do not panic and understand what to do, "he said.
