For the first time, the price of natural gas on spot markets in Europe exceeded $ 2,000 per 1,000 cubic meters for the first time in history. This is shown by the data of the London Stock Exchange ICE, reports the newspaper "Izvestia".

Earlier in the day, the price of gas in Europe exceeded $ 1,900 per 1,000 cubic meters for the first time since October 6. The price of the January futures of the Dutch hub TTF reached 1933 dollars, and at the beginning of trading they fluctuated around 1800 dollars for 1000 cubic meters of gas.

Today it became known about the suspension of the transit of gas through the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline to Germany against the background of the refusal of the Russian company "Gazprom" to reserve capacity through the route. According to the German gas transmission operator Gascade, gas supplies from Germany to Poland began later that day.
