The US Treasury Department will impose a series of sanctions next week amid a democracy summit hosted by the US administration, Reuters reported, citing a senior ministry official.
According to him, the restrictions will affect people who, according to Washington, are involved in corruption, serious human rights violations, as well as undermining democracy. The Ministry of Finance has refused specific information on those who will be affected by the restrictive measures. The ministry will also announce proposals aimed at closing the loopholes in the legislation that allow corrupt employees to use the real estate market.
