Doha and Ankara are discussing airport management in Afghanistan

The Afghan people are in urgent need of humanitarian support. The world community must organize the delivery of aid to Afghanistan through channels that are not connected to the official structures of this country, reports Anatolian Agency

This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu at a joint press conference with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdelrahman Al Thani in Doha.

The Turkish and Qatari Red Crescents have been involved in delivering humanitarian supplies to Afghanistan, the Turkish minister said.

According to Cavusoglu, Doha and Ankara are better informed about the realities of Afghanistan than other countries and international organizations.

He noted that Turkey and Qatar are also discussing in a bilateral format possible steps to manage airports in Afghanistan.

"We are discussing options for opening airports in this country. Ankara and Doha will work together on Afghan civil aviation issues. In addition, the position of the Taliban on this issue must be clear, "said the Turkish minister.

The head of Turkish diplomacy reminded that the Turkish Education Foundation finances the work of schools in Afghanistan, in 10 of which girls also study.

"The educational process must continue," Cavusoglu stressed.

The minister said that the topic of Afghanistan will be actively discussed at the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which will be held in Islamabad two weeks later.
