European far-right leaders failed to unite

European far-right leaders continue to flirt, but are still cautious about uniting, writes the American newspaper

In Warsaw on Friday and Saturday, some of the biggest nationalist, anti-immigrant and Eurosceptic politicians in Europe came together in an attempt to unite in some kind of grand coalition. Some of the participants were: Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, French Presidential candidate Marin Leo Penn and the conservative leader of the ruling party in Poland, Jroslaw Kaczynski.

Ahead of the meeting, rumors spread that the idea of creating a new supergroup could be united, which could restore the balance of power in the European Parliament.

And yet the speculations continued for only a few hours, as the politicians themselves unleashed them almost immediately.

"Maternity and public communication, yes, but there is no more than that stage," said Nicholas Bay, a French MEP led by the Leo Penn National Party's parliamentary delegation, before the meeting.

In the end, you were described as "narrower complicity" in the European Parliament, "inclusive organization of local meetings and approval of votes in general issues", but the declaration does not mention any political group.

This was a result, which is no different from those, when 16 right-wing European parties put their name in a comprehensive declaration by criticizing the EC, but avoiding the proposals for a united party.

There are reasons for the hesitation in the far right. Though there will be enough gatherings, generating headlines, the parties often play different games, moving in different directions in domestic politics and with different goals in Brussels. Technical ideologies are shining in key areas. They often just do not like you.
