The Albanian prime minister has called for an investigation into the leak of 637,000 people

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama has called on law enforcement agencies to thoroughly investigate the leaks of the personal data of 637,000 citizens, including the country's leadership, politicians and party officials, Skopje's 360 Degrees online publication quoted him as saying.

"I hope and call on law enforcement to conduct this investigation as best as possible," Rama was quoted as saying by 360 Degrees.

At the same time, the Albanian prime minister issued a personal apology to citizens whose personal data were made public.

"The revelation of the salaries of Albanians was done in violation of civil rights, freedoms and human dignity, laws and the constitution," Albanian President Ilir Meta said a day earlier.

Information on the amount of salaries, personal identification numbers, as well as the jobs of the country's residents turned out to be publicly available on the Internet. In particular, the salaries of the President and Prime Minister of Albania, amounting to 2,100 euros and 1,870,000 euros, respectively, were announced.
