The leaders of China and Russia have discussed the creation of a financial structure independent of third countries

The head of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping during talks held as a videoconference discussed the creation of an independent infrastructure for servicing of commercial operations between Moscow and Beijing without the involvement of third parties. This was announced by the aide to the Russian leader Yuri Ushakov, quoted by the newspaper "Kommersant".

"Particular attention was paid to the need to step up efforts to create an independent financial infrastructure to service trade between Russia and China. We mean to create such an infrastructure that cannot be influenced by third countries, "Ushakov explained.

According to him, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping have spoken out in favor of increasing the share of national currencies in mutual payments, expanding cooperation to ensure access for Russian and Chinese investors to stock markets. Ushakov did not answer journalists' questions about whether a decision had been made to create such a system.

The Russian presidential aide described the conversation between Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart as "very positive". He described the talks as "a conversation between" two colleagues, two friends, leaders of two great friendly countries ".
