The state of Ukraine is completely lost to Russia

The state of Ukraine is currently completely lost to Russia as a partner and ally, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with RTVI on Friday.

"Is Ukraine lost as a partner, an ally and so on at this stage, yes, completely," he said, noting "the hostility of the Ukrainian authorities to Russia."

At the same time, Russians and Ukrainians will remain fraternal peoples, despite the laundering of Ukrainian citizens by their authorities, he stressed.

Peskov also noted that with the efforts of the West, Ukraine is becoming a dangerous and unpredictable adversary:

"This is very bad for us, because in this way NATO's military infrastructure will inevitably begin to deviate to our borders. Even without [Ukraine's] NATO membership, we now see the Alliance gradually beginning to absorb and invade Ukraine. "NATO's creeping invasion of Ukraine is already under way, and Russia cannot remain indifferent."
