US authorities are developing a plan to evacuate American citizens from Ukraine in the event of an "emergency" in the country amid a tense situation near the border with Russia, CNN reports.
According to media sources, the Pentagon is leading the development of a plan that will be used in the event of destabilization of the situation in Ukraine after a possible "invasion of Russia." At the same time, CNN interlocutors stressed that the US authorities do not see the need for evacuation at the moment, as the country's international airports are functioning normally and the land borders with Ukraine's western neighbors are open.
