Sergei Ryabkov said the United States must be ready for concessions in the talks

 



 Russia's position in the negotiations with the United States on security guarantees in Geneva is firm, the American side must prepare for concessions. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Ryabkov on the air of the "First Channel" of the Russian public television, quoted by TACC.

"The United States must prepare for compromise. The Russian side came here with a clear position, which contains a number of elements, in my opinion, quite understandable and formulated so clearly, including at the highest level, that there can simply be no deviations from our approaches, "he said.

 Negotiations between Moscow and Washington on Russia's draft agreements with the United States on security guarantees, as well as agreements on security measures for the Russian Federation and NATO member states, will begin in Geneva on January 10. The Russian Interdepartmental Commission, which includes representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defense, is headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov and Deputy Defense Minister Colonel-General Alexander Fomin.
