Russia could deploy missiles in Cuba and Venezuela if NATO does not provide guarantees for non-enlargement

Russia could deploy its missiles in Cuba and Venezuela if NATO refuses to negotiate security guarantees with it, including non-expansion of the North Atlantic Alliance, the magazine writes, "Expert".

Citing its sources, the portal Avia.Pro reports that in the last two days a plane of the FSB of Russia has visited these countries.

"Yesterday and today in the airspace of Venezuela and Cuba was seen a Russian Tu-154M aircraft, which most likely belongs to the FSB of the Russian Federation," the portal writes.

At the same time, the media notes that it is still unknown who went to these countries and for what purpose. However, journalists suggested that Moscow could negotiate with Cuba and Venezuela to establish its military facilities there and deploy weapons.

"Other departments are also dealing with similar issues, which is understandable. Ultimately, Russia had previously warned the United States and NATO that it would give a firm response in the event of a failure to negotiate security guarantees. It is likely that the deployment of Russian missile weapons near the US border may force Washington to reconsider its position on NATO enlargement, "the authors of the article concluded.
