Russia's Foreign Ministry has backed Tokayev's actions to stabilize the situation in Kazakhstan

Russia's Foreign Ministry has issued an official statement to the media regarding the situation in Kazakhstan on its Facebook page. Moscow is "closely following developments in the fraternal neighboring country" and hopes for "a speedy normalization of the situation in the country, which is linked to Russia in terms of strategic partnership and alliance."

Russia's foreign ministry has called for a "peaceful solution to all problems within the constitutional order, not through street riots and violations of the law."

The ministry emphasizes that the actions of the President of Kazakhstan Jomar Tokayev are aimed at "an operational solution to existing problems, including those contained in the legitimate demands of the protesters."
