The inability to resolve the situation around Kosovo shows the helplessness of the European Union

Brussels' inability to help resolve the situation in Kosovo shows the powerlessness of the European Union. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the program The Big Game on the First Channel of Russian public television, quoted by TASS.

He drew attention to the EU-mediated agreement between Belgrade and Pristina establishing a Community of Serb Municipalities in Kosovo in 2013. "The EU has demonstrated its inability to help find solutions to this very difficult situation in Kosovo. And in Kosovo, "Kosovo Albanians have said they will not abide by the agreement, although everything has been signed. The EU's helplessness is also evident here," Lavrov said.

"This community of Serb municipalities in Kosovo presupposes the granting of autonomous rights to Serbs, similar to what was concluded in the Minsk agreements on Donbass, DNR and LNR. In both places the EU took a decisive part. Both agreements affect the rights of Slavs, Orthodox Christians in both cases, the EU does not want to move a finger, so that the country that blocks the implementation of these agreements to fulfill its obligations, "said the Russian Foreign Minister.

Earlier, the US State Department called on Russia to return to the barracks the 100,000 troops allegedly concentrated on the border with Ukraine.

"I do not think there is a need to explain the absolute unacceptability of such requests. And, of course, we will not even discuss them," Lavrov said on the air of the "Big Game" program on Channel One.
