The United States is engulfed in an unprecedented wave of violence

A sharp rise in crime has been registered in the United States, writes Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten. Since 2019, the number of murders has increased by 40%. Philadelphia has an unprecedented record of 500 murders in 2021. Wealthy citizens in Beverly Hills are in a panic over the increasing number of attacks and burglaries, and in this regard they are actively buying firearms. San Francisco, meanwhile, is slowly becoming a ghost town as many shops close due to looting.

Against the background of what is happening, Bank of America recommends that its employees in New York dress in "inconspicuous" clothes so as not to attract the attention of criminals. And Citibank provides its employees with its own transportation system so they don't have to use public transportation.

As early as 2020, the number of homicides in the United States reached its highest level in recent years. There were 7.8 murders per 100,000 Americans. Compared to the previous year, the increase is 30%. This is the biggest jump in 100 years, according to the National Center for Medical Statistics.

Some have linked the coronavirus pandemic to the rise in unemployment and the deteriorating situation of low-income families. But many also see the reason that in the context of the Black Lives Matter movement in many American cities run by Democrats, the resources and powers of law enforcement are reduced.
