Two alleged Russian spies have been detained in Latvia

Last year, Latvia's State Security Service (UDF), together with the Military Intelligence and Security Service, detained two people on suspicion of long-term cooperation with Russian military intelligence and providing classified information about the republic's defense sector. This was announced on Tuesday by the LETA agency, citing the UDF.

The mentioned persons were detained in the framework of the investigation in two criminal cases. According to the Latvian special services, these people met with representatives of the Russian military intelligence on the territory of the Russian Federation. The two were given the status of suspects and a preventive measure in the form of "detention in custody".
