Burbock will visit the United States on January 5 to meet with Blinken

Germany's new foreign minister, Analena Burbock, will travel to the United States on Wednesday to talk with US counterpart Anthony Blinken about the crisis in Ukraine, RND reported, adding that it would be the second meeting between the two.

During his first visit as a minister to the United States, in addition to Blinken Burbock, he will meet with other officials, said a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry in Berlin.

This is the second personal meeting of the "green" politician with Blinken - Burbock met with him shortly after taking office in December at a meeting of G7 foreign ministers in Liverpool.

During his trip to Washington, Burbock emphasized the importance the German government attaches to transatlantic relations. It will take place shortly after taking office at the Foreign Ministry and shortly after the start of the German G-7 presidency. The talks will cover the range of bilateral relations, but also the situation around the Ukrainian border. Foreign climate policy and the joint commitment to strengthening democracies will also be the focus of talks.
