The presidents of the Macedonia and Albania have spoken out in favor of unblocking the European integration process

 


 On Tuesday, the President of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, received his Albanian counterpart, Ilir Meta, who is on a three-day visit to Skopje, TV 21 reported.

At the meeting, views were exchanged on the overall bilateral relations between the two countries and satisfaction was expressed with their positive development through constructive cooperation and exchange of visits at the highest level.

 The Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Albania concluded the meeting by making a strong contribution to the prosperity, stability and security of the region, as well as to its European perspective, through their commitment to good neighborly relations. Both countries, as NATO allies, also contribute to the protection of the values ​​of the Euro-Atlantic community.

In the context of the aspirations for membership in the European Union, the two presidents noted the need to unblock the process and soon start negotiations on the two countries' accession to the European Union, which they believe will have a positive effect and contribute to overall progress and stability in the region.

 President Pendarovski congratulated the Republic of Albania on its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in the period 2022-2023.
